The Golden Mane!

It has been rumored, and actually proven by pictures

that at one point, hubby had what was once called

"The Golden Mane of Hair"

It is a well known joke around the house in which

we kindly remind him of his

once love of the art of "combing his hair"

The other night, Brandon came bounding out of his room and announced...

"Who am I?? Who am I??"

And this is what we saw....he had his newly trimmed and cleaned hair

combed in pure "Golden Mane" fashion!

Once I got up off the floor from laughing, I just so happened to have a picture

of our beloved (who was working hard at work during all of this)

close by...so I grabbed the camera and snapped a

few pictures to capture the moment!!

Like Father....Like Son!

The legacy of The Golden Mane lives on!!

Last Days of Summer

Enjoying the last days of summer....

Mom and Bubs!

Sheer Panic!

Imagine this... you are on the countdown to your family cruise...less than 3o days in fact...you grabbed your camera to take a picture of your darling teenage son doing something silly.....and...

NOTHING!

the lense won't open! You try another battery....you frantically try a gazillion times more to get it to work! and still...

NOTHING!

Your heart sinks...because..more than anything you want to be able to take pictures on your vacation! Thankfully, you do have other cameras...but not ones you like or small ones that you can just tote around.

This isnt of course the most expensive camera...so worst case scenario you could replace it...but who wants to spend the money on that?? At last you come to your senses...grab the box you saved and call the Customer Service! Wouldn't you know it...they closed 1/2 hr before! Figures!

Your mind instantly goes into action with "Plan B"....

The next morning you get up early to call the Customer Service and speak to an extremely friendly gentleman who seems to understand your dilema! (Vacation without camera...just can't happen!) Within a few minutes he confirms that yes... your camera is still under warranty and all you need to do is ship it to the nearest repair facility (which thankfully happens to be in Cali!) and wala...they will take care of the rest! Whew!

Tuesday you ship it overnight (thanks to your work!) and wouldn't you know it...Thursday you get an email saying its on its way back! Friday...it arrives....good as new and ready for a Cruise Vacation!!

WOW!!

Now... let me just give a shout out to Olympus Cameras for their OUTSTANDING Customer Service and repair department!! YA!!

Growing Like a Weed

My pantry is empty.... my refrigerator is bare...no wonder!
We have a GROWING TEENAGE BOY in the house!!


This "growth chart" is appropriately located inside the pantry of the house....
while it may not look like it in the picture....within a month this summer Bubba grew an inch!
He's mere inches away from passing up his mom (which he reminds me of daily!)
And his feet have grown 2 1/2 shoe sizes since school shopping last year!! YIKES!


I see the "shortest of the family" award coming my way soon!

Plakett Creek Camping

Its a tradition that has been around for years....even before the kiddos were around....Camping at Plaskett Creek. If you've never been there, its definitely worth the drive up Highway One.

We were minus one this year....a first for us....although she was missed...we managed to still have a good time. We spent our days laying on the beach, hangin in the ocean (whether surfing, boogie boarding or kayak fishing) and our nights sitting around the campfire roastin Marshmallows and playing games.
