Mid State Fair 2008

As long as Christian music artists come to the fair, we will continue to go! We've made it a tradition for the last few years to spend the afternoon riding the rides, eating the food (why is it fair food is so yummy?) and spending time with friends and family.
This year was no different....

We rode the rides..... even the new Rockn' Rapids (where we got a nice refreshing splash of water!!)

Hung out with the cousins....and rode the swings

Saw Christian artist "Skillet" in concert

And hit the Himalayas ride one more time before leaving....

Teenager fast approaching.....

Just two months shy of his 13th birthday, we gave in and ordered Brandon his very own cell phone. (along with the unlimited text messaging package of course!!)
Hard to believe my baby is growing up so fast!!
Here's to keeping in touch!!

The sights and sounds we will be seeing more often.... the buzz of a new text message arriving...and the sound of the little keyboarding typing away...and the best part....the smile on our boys' face!!

The newly aquired phone!

Camp Good News

This year Bubba celebrated his 6th year as a Camp Good News Camper. His last year and he was top dog! Literally, the oldest boy in camp!

If you look closely, you will see Bubba's counselor with a most unusual hair cut. He offered for every 50 verses the boys learned they could shave a portion of his head....apparently Bubba's counselor from last year failed to tell him that when you give Bubba a challenge like that...he's all over it!! What a brave soul!! Bubba beat his record from last year and memorized over 155 verses in the bible!...including an entire chapter of Romans! (still not sure where this kid came from...but hey...we'll take him!)

He walked away with Cabin #6 Memory verse champ, Camp Boy's Verse Champion (duh) and Camper of the week....oh and his camp team "Saved" won the competition for the week! (hence the package of skittles)

Fifth anniversary of the three of us going out to camp the same week. Nessa and I working and Bubba as a camper. He eagerly awaits next year when he will be old enough to help in the kitchen!! What awesome kids with servant's hearts! (start stakin' chairs!)

Amazing that the kids are fed from this wacky group of people!!

Triple the fun.....Triple the Trouble!

4th of July

We've waited for almost a year to celebrate this holiday with the Pius family at their Pismo House. Last August they bought a house in the Pismo heights with a picture perfect view of the Pismo pier and thus began the eager awaiting of the 4th of July!

We started out the day spending a little bit of time at the beach so the boys could get their fill of boogie boarding in for the day. As the day grew on, so did the crowds at the beach, so we headed back to the safety of our home.

It was then time for a little games and then a delicious BBQ. As soon as the sun began to set, we were treated to some "pre firework" shows down on the beach. (Amazing what fireworks people bring to the beach to set off!)

Double Trouble x 2!!
no...make that 3!
All decked out and ready to celebrate!

At last it was time for the show! Things couldn't have been more perfect... the weather was absolutely fantastic and as clear as day giving us an outstanding fireworks show!!
Well worth the wait!!
