It started as any typical Monday. Work...as usual. Going fairly well...no complaints. Quitting time of 3:30 meant a "quick" trip to the dentist office for a fill on two small cavities I had. Now...let me preface that by saying I've only had ONE other cavitiy in my life...and it was filled in a snap with no pain.
Enter a new dentist into the picture, one that I have determined is trigger happy and loves the little tube with the stuff to numb you all up...cause he used TWO of them on me. One in each side! Ya..that's great...I didn't want to feel anything! thanks! After a slight panic attack because I felt like my throat was totally closing in on me... I endured the few minutes it took to drill, chip and fill my cavities. Wala...new woman! That outta teach me to floss better from now on! Now onto home to let this stuff wear off!
Laughing as I got into the car, I called hubby to let him know I was on my way home and see him in a bit. I was excited to get home becuase Nessa and the boys had made dinner for us! I took the back roads home enjoying the beautiful countryside all the while laughing at myself as my entire lower jaw felt like it was sticking out to the steering wheel (ok..so I get amuzed by silly stuff...what can I say)
As I rounded the corner coming into the village of AG, I was coasting down a slight hill when I noticed some beautiful blue and red lights flashing behind me. Christmas lights? No..not quite. I vaguely remember what you are supposed to do when those go behind you...so I pulled over"safely" to the side of the road.
According to Mr. Officer, it was his day to "enforce the speed limit" on that portion of the road and he had clocked me at 41 MPH. I smiled in all my numbness glory as he asked me if I knew what the speed limit was......hmmm....40? lol... I mean.. I seriously had no clue! Learn somethin new everyday! The sign a mile back, covered by an over grown tree stated 30 MPH.... who knew? ( apparently I wasn't the only one who didn't know the limit, as people zoomed past me while Mr. Officer was writing me up!!...go figure!) Needless to say, I was too tired ( and a little peeved at this point) to try and work my way out of this...he obviously had his job to do and felt I was driving at an unsafe speed! LOL (ohh...if he only knew what my little zoom zoom car was really capable of!!)
So as I sat, drinking my protein shake at dinner (because I was still too numb to eat the delicious meal my family cooked) I let out a half laugh/half cry...for in one day, I had experienced two of life's treasured moments!
No pictures of the numb lady were taken....but I thought I would share my precious gift from Mr. Officer!

How much pain in one day can you take? Welcome to the world of cavities & oh yeah, tickets! You're in good company-someone dear to me just got one last month in Nebraska! You know, it's an elite group! But really, so sorry, little speed-demon! When I got my first ticket (Ok, I only have gotten 2, this sounds like I have this huge long list of them!, all my Dad did was put a sticky note on the steering wheel that said "slow down". SO, when you get in the car tomorrow-imagine that I put that love note there for you, ok? There are some really fun on-line driving schools that you can do so the ticket doesn't go on your record!
How are you feeling today? Did you watch your speed??? Did you see your little virtual post-it-note on your steering wheel this morning? :) That was definetly a bad day! Great song for it. I hope today goes better for you. How is your mouth feeling? Just a thought, maybe you should go take a picture of the speed limit sign with the tree covering it & maybe fight your ticket? It really is the city's fault! LOL Well, if not that, it would make a great scrapbook page! :)
