Permanent Resident...
He used to be skittish...and hesitant to be close to us. That was 2 months ago....this is Garfield today. He is officially our cat. He knows our voice...knows when the door opens (which means food of course) and continues to make himself right at home inside! Here's to another kitty calling the Spiller house...their home!

Future Olympians....
Watch out London 2012...the Spiller Family is getting ready to take the field!
They used to be Friday Family Game Nights, but since Hubby got a new schedule we've had to make an adjustment. Inspired by watching 16 days of the Olympics, we headed outside for a little Bocce Ball.....Spiller Family style! No...we don't have an "official" set...but we have an abundance of Baseballs that will work just fine!
going....going....gone!

Watch out...I'm going for the Gold!

I have to throw this where?? why?

A Perfect shot! That's a 10!

The enthusiastic crowd keeps us going for the Gold!

How do YOU eat an Oreo?

That's not an Oreo...thats a Nutter Butter....perfect cookie for a Perfect NUT!!

Living in a Victorian house, with a career like this...and a salary like that...it's no wonder Mom squeaks out a win...with 2.25 million dollars.

Bon Jour!
With the redoing of Bubba's room this weekend, I realized that we never documented the redoing of Nessa's room! (definitely Pre-blog life!)
After visiting Paris during her senior year in high school, she came home not wanting that trip to ever leave her mind!! She was all jazzed to redo her room with a "Paris feel" to it. It was time to put behind her the bright striped and "Hawaiian print"comforter along with the Bubble Gum and Hot Pink walls and move to a more "grown up" room.
As part of her graduation gift, she picked out the paint, the Faux finish she wanted and found the most absolutely perfect comforter to accent the room!...and so the work began. Two full weekends later... (who knew primering hot pink walls ....and then faux painting them could take sooo much work!) a beautiful , very grown up room was created!
This was the only picture I could find that showed the Bubble Gum and Hot Pink walls..

The inspiration for her new room....a print that she bought while in Paris.

Found this awesome comforter set that goes so perfectly with her room.

Accessories say it all... I love the black iron Eiffel Tower that we found at the fair last summer.

From Turf.....to Surf
The other day we calculated that Bubba has been into Camoflauge for 10 years! In that time he's had everything you could think of that was camo! (even cute little boxers!) He was almost 3 when we got his camo comforters for his room. Five years ago when we moved into our new house, his room got painted in...none other than.... yes.. camo colors. (quite cool if you ask me!)
Call it a sign of the times or just growing up... but this year as he graduated from 6th grade and began to make the venture into Junior High land, he made the statement that he would like to redo his room! What?? I thought the "Camo phase" would last forever!
With his new found love of boogie boarding and surfing, a new "phase" had begun. Thus began our search for the perfect "surfer" comforter and coordinate the paint colors....oh..and of course the accessories! Lack of free time this summer has prohibited us from this room makeover, but with just a few weeks away from school starting it was time to get the job done!
So this weekend, we will close the Camo chapter in his life and bring on the Waves! "Surf's Up Dude!"
Bubba starts the task of sorting, getting rid of stuff and cleaning up his room....all for a summer makeover! (notice the cool brown and green walls.....VERY camo!)

Hmmm... gotta clean off all those footie prints off his wall by his bed!

Watch for the finished product pictures next week!!

Mom sneaks in just before the end to say hi and snap a picture

Bowling shoes.... do they match anything???

What would bowling be without some fried food....like Onion Rings!
