Good things come in Small packages....

He maybe smaller when compared to everyone else out there on the court...but he packs a mighty punch! I'm talking about my fireball of a son, and his "no fear" attitude when out on the basketball court.
Although he's played Basketball since he was in the 1st grade, this year was the first year he was eligible to play for his own school's team. He came out on the court every game with energy and the desire to play his hardest for his team.
Coastal Christian School Conquerors may not have the leading record when playing against these other bigger schools, but they definitely win my vote for the Boys with the most heart! (of course I am rather bias!)
So here's to Bubba.... and an outstanding first year on the Junior High Boys Basketball team!! You ROCK dude!!

Who knew...

that in a week, I could almost devour an entire batch of rice krispie treats myself??? I made a boat load of them on Sunday for our Superbowl festivites, and well....ya..they've magically disappeared this week. (only later to reappear on my bottom half I'm sure) These weren't just ANY rice krispie treats...they were the coco-vanilla ones. Either way...they were ALL good!!
Cheesecake is definitely my most favorite dessert, but that one I at least know when to say when.....something about that krispy krunch that gets me everytime!!
My only hope is to keep telling myself " they are low fat"...right??? And hubby wonders why I don't bake much anymore....DUH!!

Sickies arrive....

Yesterday it was me....barely making it through the day, not feeling well...
Today it was Bubba. I got the call just before lunch that his stomach was hurting. I waltzed out of work carrying a stack of things I could work on at home and headed for the school to retrieve my sick baby!( what a blessing to be have the flexibility to be able to be home with sick kids and not lose any work time!)
After a bowl of chicken noodle soup (that his sweet "soon to be nurse one day" sister went to the store to retrieve) ,some saltine crackers, 7-up and a few cartoons my boy was gaining his color and life back into him!
By 7 o'clock he was back up and DOING HIS HOMEWORK!!! Definitely sick! lol

Poor Patriots!

Sorry our sweet Nessa... Your Patriots had a great season, and gave us an awesome Superbowl Game to watch! Sorry we couldn't be rejoicing more tonight!! ( at least we had some good fun and food while watching the game right???)
Our very own Patriots fan..sporting her blue!
Bubba made decorations for our Super bowl Festivities!

Sprechen Sie Deutsch?

Guten Tag!
It's time for the infamous 6th grade country report. Fascinated with his "heritage", Bubba picked Germany for his country. An so the games began!...we were off to an ambitious start and headed to the library....a MONTH ago to gather our resources. ( he needed at least 3, and internet can only count as 1 source!)
Having his rough draft outline due tomorrow, we dug out our "resources" and pulled together a study session on our beloved country, Germany.
If history repeats itself, he will have the opportunity to share with others at the school Open house in May delicious yummies from his country. ( lucky for us, my boss lived in Germany for 7 years and is an expert in cooking German cuisine!)
So, until next time...
Auf Wiedersehen!
