Monday Morning Wake Up Text

My dear friend Kathy is on the Washington DC trip with Bubba and has sent me pictures and texts throughout the trip. This was my wake up text at 5:30 Monday morning (their first official day touring)

Washington DC Trip Countdown...

We are on the countdown now.... 8th/9th graders from Coastal Christian School will depart Arroyo Grande and head on their whirlwind trip to our Nations Capitol!

Please keep them in Prayer!!

The Last Bee....

He's gone almost every year since 2nd grade, and this was it....the last one!

Quite honestly...I don't know how he does it...just sitting there watching them makes my stomach turn from my nerves!! But he does it...and he does it well!!

Basketball is Here!

Sprouting some 6 inches since last season, Bubba started his third and final season with the Coastal Christian School Jr. High Basketball team.
With a new coach, and a more experienced team this year, they have started their season out on a great note. They won Trinity Luthern 32-12 on Tuesday and came back from a 20 point deficeit to almost win North County Christian last night 37-40!

Here we go again....

The kids are NOT happy...they actually claim it's illegal for us to go without them...
but hey..we just couldnt pass up a deal...and besides...they have school!! They wouldn't want to miss out on their quality education right??
It won't be the same of course...but we'll trrrryyy to enjoy ourselves...we'll even have an extra dessert in their honor!!(its the sacrifice we will make!)

New Years Eve

Our annual tradition of Ringing in the New Year with the Pius Family continued as we set out to celebrate the start of 2010 with a bang!

So the "adults" were on the upper deck...and the "kids" were just below them... at midnight, it became an all out Silly String war enhanced with none other than poppers! We had the kids running for their lives!!

Family Christmas

Since hubby had to work Christmas morning, we bumped up our celebration to Christmas Eve. (we had no arguements from the kids on that one...hmm...wonder why?)

We started our night with a wonderful church service at Harvest Church in the Village, back home to warm up with our traditional soup for dinner and then it was time to celebrate!

You definitely know you have teenagers in the house when gifts go from dolls and legos...to electronic items and clothes of all sorts!

It was a new laptop for Nessa this year. This will help with all those nursing classes she's got!

And then a 32" Flatscreen TV for Bubba.

Since she got a new laptop, her old one was "passed down" to bubba!

Santa and Mrs. Clause pooped after all the fun!

Family Rainy Day...

Ever have one of those perfect days? You know the ones...Rainy outside....fire going in the fireplace... laying around watching movies all day...homemade chilli and cornbread for dinner....

That was us yesterday... Everyone was home. And although we didn't do much of anything productive (except maybe changing a lightbulb upstairs)... just being together was FANTASTIC.
After dinner, we did manage to finally get the ornaments on the "big tree", and let me tell you... if I could bottle up the laughter and smiles that were going around I would. I just wanted to stop time! Who thought being silly could be so much FUN!!

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE my family!! They rock!!

Hmm... what was in that egg nog?? Not even sure how to explain why they were sticking their tongues on the ornaments they hung... gotta love the humor of these two kids!!

Perfect Weahter....

...For riding your quad around...or at least that's what they (Hubby and Bubba) convinced me into believing!!

Since there was a break in the rain...Bubba got out there, fired up his quad and enjoyed riding around in the light rain! ( I don't exactly see the fun in riding in the rain and mud...so,I stood inside by the warm fire watching!)

That's a sign of fun!

Hmm...I'm thinking he got some mud on it!..

Oh...ugh... now to clean it up before putting it back!
